One thing that jumps out at me immediately is that my account generated $4.05 this week versus $4.33 last week. Not every week will there be an increase.

There are different reasons that might account for this.

1) Maybe I didn’t comment as much as I did the week before. When we comment, more people see us and that could mean that fewer people checked out my page and fewer followed me. Followers is a difficult number to judge because I will definitely be losing some (while gaining others) as people begin to realize that they don’t have to follow when they are already friends on tsu. All that does is limit the number of people you can follow in the long run because we can only follow 1000 people, so don’t follow if you friend that person! (Also, I was sick this weekend, so I definitely shared less on Saturday.)

2) Perhaps people on tsu simply didn’t click as much this week when they saw an ad. I couldn’t know that unless I saw all the data for tsu and could make a comparison with MY friends and followers.

3) Does tsu’s price for advertising change from week to week with supply and demand? I don’t know the answer to that.

4) Do people naturally interact less when they have been friends on tsu for a couple weeks?

5) Do people interact less because they have more friends and can’t interact with each one as often? This would seem to be a really great argument for not simply friending people who have thousands of friends already. If you have a liberal friending policy as I have had up to this point, keep in mind that someone with 50 friends or less will have fewer profiles in their feed so they are incredibly likely to view your content more often. (Unless tsu somehow adjusts for that, but I don’t think that would be in tsu’s best interest.)

6) Are there just natural fluctuations and the REAL solution is to bring more children to tsu?

I believe that inviting more people to tsu is really the solution. Mateo Garcia of @beNICEmedia definitely contributes to my bottom line. He is the most active of my tsu children and he creates great content! You still have time to friend him!

If you are reading this and you are not yet on tsu, here is my tsu.co/ACrowdFunder link. If somehow WordPress can’t handle that link you can go to tsu.co and give them ACrowdFunder when tsu asks for a code or extension or who invited you!

Gotta go! See you tomorrow and see you on tsu! Come and say hello! 🙂

Manage Your Expectations

Imagine you’re in the audience and the announcer says, “Please give a warm welcome to the FUNNIEST MAN IN THE WORLD!”

Wouldn’t you have really high expectations? Wouldn’t MOST PEOPLE have really, really high expectations after hearing that introduction!? I know I would.

If you’re sitting in that audience and the comedian comes out and does a good job is it possible that the audience would say he was just ok? Because the expectations are so high after the announcer gives that introduction, it’s almost INEVITABLE that the audience would be disappointed. Who could live up to that?

We don’t want that to happen with OUR EXPECTATIONS OF tsu. That’s why “Manage Your Expectations” is the title of today’s post.

Don’t expect that the financial reward of tsu will just keep going up every day (or even every week).

What we really want is to understand how to best use tsu. There are other benefits to tsu that I won’t go into today, nevertheless, I just wanted to remind you that money is not the only thing we can get from tsu. Money can be ONE way of keeping score if we think of tsu as being like a game.

Just one impact I’ll mention:

IF I continue to add friends at a similar rate then I will have 5000 friends in two weeks or less. My expectation is that WHEN I reach 5000 friends, whether before or after Christmas, I will then start adding followers at a higher rate. Time will tell if that is true.

Now for what many of you are maybe more interested in – the money.

These results are for the week of 12/01/14 through 12/07/14. Please remember that these numbers are posted to my account in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), so last night was the 8th of December and the results posted last night were for the 7th of December.

(I’m writing this on the 8th of December, which will be over in less than three hours based on GMT. Everything clear? LOL)

12/4
$0.67
12/5
$0.67
12/6
$0.75
12/7
$0.64

You can see that I hit a high of $0.75 on the next-to-last day of the week. IF I had expected that the next day I would do better, that is, if I expected that every day the numbers would continue to climb higher, I would be disappointed. By managing my expectations I don’t get bothered when one day brings lower results than another.

What I can do is to seek to learn what I can do to improve my results. One thing that seems to be true is that shares count for more than comments or likes. That means that you and I must create our own content. If I share someone else’s content because I see a beautiful picture from say @Zaibatsu or @Rolla or a quote I like from @beNICEmedia, that’s really good AND we should be doing that. BUT, when WE create something and someone else shares it, I believe that’s worth approximately $0.05 to us. I can’t promise that, and it may be more or less, but that’s what it looks like to me.

Here are a couple Christmas-themed links to posts that I have created that I hope you will share. I would appreciate it. If you believe that I am creating value for you by writing this blog, then it would be wonderful if you shared posts that I have created.

Finally, how does this week’s financials compare with previous weeks?

I have included my complete financials since I began with tsu because I believe I made some small errors in a previous post. You can see that in the beginning I was getting ZEROS because I wasn’t putting in any or very little effort after enrolling with tsu.

My overall total right now is:

$8.25

This week’s total is:

$4.33

That’s an increase of over 78% versus last week! Put another way, this week’s total is over 178% of last week’s total. My apologies if percentages are not your thing. I believe that not understanding math can hold people back. Ask a friend who knows math better if they can explain it to you better. OR, trust me, this is REALLY GOOD NEWS! Hopefully, my numbers (and yours) will continue to grow. Again, it’s not magic. Do the work and learn how to make adjustments and your numbers will improve as well.

Last week’s total is:

Have a great day!

Another TsuDay, Another TsuDollar

The headline of this post is not literally true for me yet. I’m rushing to get this post done before today’s numbers pop into my Tsu back office. It’s still hours away, but I feel like I’ve been trying to actually get down to writing this for hours.

Tsu is a little bit addictive. But that’s a good thing if you’re going to make money at it. If Tsu commands your attention then it will likely do the same for many of the people you bring to Tsu and for those who follow and friend you.

Yesterday I was surprised when at around 10:15 pm California time I saw the numbers change from 75 cents to $1.17 in a flash. If you read previous posts you’ll see that two days ago my TOTAL was 42 cents and yesterday the INCREASE was 42 cents. That’s exciting.

As I watched my back office today I noticed a few things.

First, it looks like the day ends around 4 pm California time and that’s Midnight Greenwich Mean Time or GMT. GMT is a world standard so it makes sense to me that that’s when the day ends. I’m sure it takes several hours to crunch the numbers which is why I saw the change around 10:15 last night.

Second, not only can you see graphs of the totals of your views, likes and comments, but you can scroll down and see how the last 30 posts are doing. It says “Last 30 Days” and that’s incorrect for now. It’s really your last 30 posts.

Third, I had my two highest counts on views and comments and my second highest count on likes.

What does it mean? That’s a good question.

If the revenue that Tsu generated today remains the same as yesterday, then I expect to get at least 48 cents. I could be surprised though.

I’ll see in a few hours.

Tsu Lessons

Now that I’m used to creating content and interacting on Tsu every day I have learned a couple things and I’ll continue to share more lessons in the future.

1) Never post about how Tsu won’t let you comment because you’ve maxed out for this particular rolling 24 hour period. I did that today and it may have been a coincidence, but not long after I made that announcement I found that no one was commenting. Maybe it was just because it was Saturday morning or maybe there are just some things we don’t want to share on Tsu!

Visit here to see what I said when Tsu gave me back the ability to comment:

https://www.tsu.co/post/9297864

If you haven’t joined Tsu yet, you may need to before you can view it.

Use my wife’s link – http://Tsu.co/MarianneEarlywine or mine – http://Tsu.co/ACrowdFunder to join right now!

2) You may find that some activities are more efficient, but not more effective. You may want to comment on a few posts by someone else, but don’t go overboard if you are trying to maximize how you use your time. This morning I decided to comment on 30 or 40 posts by one woman and it was very easy to simply scroll down to the next post time after time.

Did she do the same for me? No. She might have commented once and liked one or two posts. If I had spread out my comments over the next 10 or 12 days, maybe she would have returned the favor most of those days. We’ll see how that turns out but I don’t expect those chickens to hatch, so I won’t count those eggs!

Lastly, my account increased from 42 cents to 75 cents today and I didn’t really expect that. After such a good increase yesterday my account still increased over 78% in value today. So far 33 cents is the high for one day and I think tomorrow will be lower, but I’ve been wrong before. One thing I DO expect is that tomorrow there will be more than 75 cents there.

Why is this exciting? I believe that as I keep inviting people and people keep joining me that that will multiply the effects of what causes my financials to go up. Seems logical.

Still not convinced about how good Tsu will be?

Ask yourself this question-

“How much does Facebook or Twitter pay me to use their service?”
