Are You On tsu? Join Our Group On tsu!

First, if you are NOT on tsu and you are reading this on a computer, you can join by following the link in the upper right. When you follow my link that connects you to me (@ACrowdFunder) and tsu refers to you as my child. Welcome, my child! 😉

If you are already registered on tsu and you want to get more likes, views and followers, Mateo Garcia (@beNICEmedia) and I and several others have created a group and that group is becoming a team that helps the members get more likes, views and followers on tsu. Right now we are accepting members who speak English in the USA and Canada. If you are from a different country and want to be part of a future expansion of the team, you are also welcome to contact me now and I’ll let you know when the time is right for that expansion.

This is a good time for me to write about the requirement for English speakers only. This has to do with just one thing. Speed. Speed of communication is the biggest factor. Soon our group will be 50, then 100 and then 500 members or more. I know some Spanish, but not enough to run an organization. I send out emails 5 or 6 days a week to the team and those emails are in English. If you have a viable solution that doesn’t add to the time it takes for us to do things, I’m willing to hear it. Just know that at least until the end of March, I’m going to be very, very busy. So that conversation could take time as I would have to fit it in to everything else I’m doing.

If you are on tsu and you have an outside business that you believe can be helped by tsu, you are a great candidate for our group. If you would just like to come play with us and get more likes, views and followers on tsu and help others do the same, that’s great!

Right now I have 5000 friends on tsu, so you would need to be a follower. Those are tsu’s rules. Not mine.

Want more success? Ready to learn how to better use social media to get there? Join my team.

I’m @ACrowdFunder!

Good Strategies For Getting Someone’s Attention (Now That I’ve Joined The 5000 Followers Club)

Now that I’ve been using tsu for about six weeks I can tell you that some patterns begin to emerge. One pattern is lots of people will ask you to be their friend after you get to 1000 or 2000 friends and you’re somewhat active. At one point I had about 300 friend requests in one day.

If I assume that my experience is normal, what should you do to get someone to friend you? Think about it from the perspective of the person that you are asking to be your friend. WHY should they say yes?

When I had fewer than 100 friend slots left I began to be much more selective. After all, I have some real life friends who will join tsu and I want to be able to add them as tsu friends. Don’t you want the same thing? So, how do you get a person to say yes?

First, don’t expect that everyone will say yes. Do NOT be obnoxious and send a friend request over and over to someone after they have declined your invitation. I understand that sometimes you’ll make a mistake and invite someone twice or even three times. If your computer or your phone isn’t awesome, it’s possible to make that mistake. Trust me, I’ve been there.

If you’re thinking about it from that person’s perspective (the one you want to accept your friend invitation), isn’t it possible that they will think that you’re harassing them and that they could report you to tsu? If you get enough reports to tsu, they will ban you and as far as I know, that is a LIFETIME ban.

So make sure if someone tells you no that you really take it for a no and leave them alone. When there are millions of people on tsu and you want to reach five thousand friends, there are other fish in the sea, as the saying goes.

Second, does this person speak the same language as you? If the answer is no, what do you think you are really accomplishing by having them be your friend? Maybe it could turn into something because translation technology is getting better and better, but wouldn’t having someone who speaks the same language make things go much faster? Think about it.

Third, if this person has so many friends, HOW DO YOU STAND OUT IN A POSITIVE WAY?

If you want that person’s attention you could make RELEVANT comments on 10 posts. You could share two or three of their posts. You could like 50 of their posts.

Again, put yourself in their position. They have all these friend requests and they see that you speak the same language and that you’re posting positive stuff AND you’ve shared more than one of their posts. If it’s between you and someone that just sends a friend request I believe you will become the friend first 9 times out of 10. The only reason it’s not 100% of the time is not everyone is that good at paying attention.

When I first started on tsu I was learning all about it and trying to do all the maximums and I was getting involved in a lot of activity and a lot of notifications came my way. I am sure there are at least one or two people who gave up trying to get my attention, but lots of them did get my attention because they were positive and polite and unique.

Because I’ve got to go shopping with my son (Christmas time!) I’m going to continue this in another post.

If you haven’t joined tsu, here’s my LINK.

Manage Your Expectations

Imagine you’re in the audience and the announcer says, “Please give a warm welcome to the FUNNIEST MAN IN THE WORLD!”

Wouldn’t you have really high expectations? Wouldn’t MOST PEOPLE have really, really high expectations after hearing that introduction!? I know I would.

If you’re sitting in that audience and the comedian comes out and does a good job is it possible that the audience would say he was just ok? Because the expectations are so high after the announcer gives that introduction, it’s almost INEVITABLE that the audience would be disappointed. Who could live up to that?

We don’t want that to happen with OUR EXPECTATIONS OF tsu. That’s why “Manage Your Expectations” is the title of today’s post.

Don’t expect that the financial reward of tsu will just keep going up every day (or even every week).

What we really want is to understand how to best use tsu. There are other benefits to tsu that I won’t go into today, nevertheless, I just wanted to remind you that money is not the only thing we can get from tsu. Money can be ONE way of keeping score if we think of tsu as being like a game.

Here are the results of my tsu game this week and two previous weeks:

Just one impact I’ll mention:

IF I continue to add friends at a similar rate then I will have 5000 friends in two weeks or less. My expectation is that WHEN I reach 5000 friends, whether before or after Christmas, I will then start adding followers at a higher rate. Time will tell if that is true.

Now for what many of you are maybe more interested in – the money.

These results are for the week of 12/01/14 through 12/07/14. Please remember that these numbers are posted to my account in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), so last night was the 8th of December and the results posted last night were for the 7th of December.

(I’m writing this on the 8th of December, which will be over in less than three hours based on GMT. Everything clear? LOL)

You can see that I hit a high of $0.75 on the next-to-last day of the week. IF I had expected that the next day I would do better, that is, if I expected that every day the numbers would continue to climb higher, I would be disappointed. By managing my expectations I don’t get bothered when one day brings lower results than another.

What I can do is to seek to learn what I can do to improve my results. One thing that seems to be true is that shares count for more than comments or likes. That means that you and I must create our own content. If I share someone else’s content because I see a beautiful picture from say @Zaibatsu or @Rolla or a quote I like from @beNICEmedia, that’s really good AND we should be doing that. BUT, when WE create something and someone else shares it, I believe that’s worth approximately $0.05 to us. I can’t promise that, and it may be more or less, but that’s what it looks like to me.

Here are a couple Christmas-themed links to posts that I have created that I hope you will share. I would appreciate it. If you believe that I am creating value for you by writing this blog, then it would be wonderful if you shared posts that I have created.

Finally, how does this week’s financials compare with previous weeks?

I have included my complete financials since I began with tsu because I believe I made some small errors in a previous post. You can see that in the beginning I was getting ZEROS because I wasn’t putting in any or very little effort after enrolling with tsu.

My overall total right now is:

$8.25

This week’s total is:

$4.33

That’s an increase of over 78% versus last week! Put another way, this week’s total is over 178% of last week’s total. My apologies if percentages are not your thing. I believe that not understanding math can hold people back. Ask a friend who knows math better if they can explain it to you better. OR, trust me, this is REALLY GOOD NEWS! Hopefully, my numbers (and yours) will continue to grow. Again, it’s not magic. Do the work and learn how to make adjustments and your numbers will improve as well.

Keep Tsu In Perspective

This week’s report has some good news and my concern is that too many readers will focus on things they perceive as negative. I’ll start with the dollar figure in my account versus last week. If you view the post from November 24th, you’ll see that I had $0.09 the previous week and that increased to $1.50 by last Monday’s post.

If we look at results from a daily perspective we may find them discouraging. One factor that we MUST keep in mind is that the pennies and dollars that end up in our account come from tsu’s revenue. It’s not magic and it’s not altruism.

We bring value to tsu by our participation and tsu shares 90% with us. That’s generous AND it’s still not Facebook size yet. If tsu has a down day in terms of money that they bring in, then that will affect the SIZE of the pie that tsu shares with us.

My piece of the pie this week is good. It grew from $1.41 last week to $2.42 in the week ending last night. Those individual days look like this – Monday to Sunday: $0.31 – $0.40 – $0.35 – $0.42 – $0.24 – $0.34 – $0.36.

If you saw my posts on my tsu profile or CoachZero.com it’s not hard to guess which amount above represents the day that my buddy and I went up to L.A. to see Fleetwood Mac in concert. (Hint: I didn’t make as much money and that day’s amount REALLY stands out!)

If you expect each day to bring a little bit more money than the day before you’re going to be disappointed. If you believe that you can do the work of making changes to your behavior, then you will likely find that you can increase those amounts week by week or month by month.

THAT second sentence is the stumbling block for many people. “How long do I have to stick with this thing until I get the benefit that I want?” Whether they say that exactly is not important. That’s kind of what many people are thinking.

IF you look at this as a job, you’ll likely be really disappointed.

If you look at it more like a business where you can have some fun and you might get some benefits (value) from places that you didn’t expect, then I believe you’ll be rewarded. BUT, that takes work and that means SMART work or WORKING SMART.

Speaking of unexpected benefits, I have seen my blog traffic increase as a result of posting about tsu AND because of links I’ve shared on tsu. Will I be at 300 or 500 or 1000 views per day in January? Maybe.

Through my experience I hope that you and I will learn how to make the most of this. So don’t be discouraged because neither day this past weekend was a record for me. On a percentage basis, the increase from $0.24 to $0.34 from Friday to Saturday is quite significant. That’s an increase of over 41% and shows that effort matters. I worked hard on those likes on Saturday and hit 1000 by 3:59 pm. Later that day I hit 1000 comments (although that fell on Sunday because of WHEN the day starts – 4 pm my time.)

What did I learn this week?

When you share that you hit 1000 likes in a post on tsu, THAT gets people’s attention in a positive way. Click here to see that post. If you are not on tsu already, you may need to register through my link to read the post. Click HERE to register using my link.

Because I’m running short of time before my meeting this morning I’m going to need to continue sharing about what I learned in a future post. (Probably later today or tomorrow.)

Here are the numbers (except the financial part which I shared in the beginning of this post):

Another way of looking at the numbers directly above is that they represent what actually happened THIS week. I believe that’s encouraging as well because those numbers led to the $2.42 increase during the week. I’ll have to look closer, but my sense is that this means I actually got paid a little bit more for the results I got. My assumption is that what really drives the dollars are likes and comments (and shares). Let’s not forget something that I haven’t mentioned at all. What happens when you or I or anyone of our children advertise OR our children’s children advertise. My guess is THAT is where the big dollars are at.

Whew! I’ll likely be back in less than 24 hours.

I Achieved 1000 Likes On Tsu In 24 Hours. Now What!?

This morning I woke up around 9:15 after going to see Fleetwood Mac at the Forum in Los Angeles last night with a good friend I’ve known since high school. The first thing I want you to notice is that I went out and had fun. Both of us had never seen Fleetwood Mac before and it would be the best concert either of us has seen all year except that we saw Paul McCartney with my wife and his daughter at Petco Park in September. THAT was the greatest concert we have ever been to in our entire lives. I know I’ve been going to concerts since I was at least 18 and maybe younger. So Paul McCartney was the greatest show in over 33 years. I shared that because I believe that it’s important to both work AND play.

When I woke up and checked on my Tsu account this morning I found that the likes, comments and views were the worst they’ve been in a while. Last night my account only added 24 cents so I knew that would mean I would have two low days in a row if I didn’t do something.

That’s when I decided to see if I could get to 1000 likes today. What I forgot at the beginning is that Tsu has a rolling 24 hour period. So at 3:59 pm California time today I had counted to 890 likes and Tsu said I could not like anymore because I had liked 1000 times in the last 24 hour period. I had forgotten that I was liking (and commenting and sharing) on Tsu yesterday from around 4 pm until I left at nearly 5:30 to drive to my friend’s house and go to the concert.

Two things about this. One, I want to remind you that Tsu starts their day at 4 pm my time (or close to that) which is Midnight Greenwich Mean Time, a world-wide standard. So I was thinking in terms of Tsu’s close of business for today. Two, I had coincidentally started a period of using Tsu at almost exactly 4 pm yesterday, which is why I hit 1000 likes at 3:59 pm. But that was just a coincidence. Your rolling 24 hour period is continually moving. I just found out a little while ago that I could like a little. We’ll see when Tsu stops me when I get done with this post. I assume they must give us a little extra leeway, because last night at this time we were sitting in our seats waiting for Fleetwood Mac to come on stage.

What did the 1000 likes do for my account?

Remember that my numbers were looking really bad before 9:30 this morning. By the time Tsu closed the day at 4 pm I had the most views I’ve ever had in one day – 2652! I also had the 4th highest like total – 178 – with 210 being my all-time high 2 days ago. My comments were tied for the 4th highest total I’ve had at 59. That all-time high was 5 days ago at 91.

In about 150 minutes I’ll know the financial result, but I want to mention that Tsu is NOT all about money. I keep meeting great people and I am learning to especially like the people who re-share my posts.

Tonight a guy who has thousands of friends and followers told me that he believes shares are most important financially. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I do think shares are important. My guess is that they do contribute SOMETHING to our ultimate paycheck, but they are also an indication that people TRULY LIKE our posts enough to share them with their friends or with everyone.

I know that I would definitely appreciate it if anyone reading this post were to go to my Tsu page at https://www.tsu.co/ACrowdFunder and find one or two of MY posts (not necessarily something that I have re-shared from someone else) and re-share them on your Tsu page. There is likely SOMETHING that I have posted that you like, so take a look around. If you then came back to this blog and commented that you shared, well, that would be awesome. If you feel that I have provided you with some value on this blog I would really appreciate you giving me that little bit of value in return.

Let me leave you with this. IF sharing really is important (and I think it may be) and you want people to share your stuff, that means you need to create your own content. I created a limerick and I’m going to make a better presentation for it. (You can find it if you look back a couple of days.) Can you take pictures or your dog or sunsets or flowers? Are you funny? Are you good at using words to motivate? Use your creativity and come up with something. The more you practice, the easier it will become and soon you’ll be able to create a dozen or more things a day that other people can re-share.

Success Takes More! Get There!

Give And Receive Value

Many people today don’t realize that you and I give value for value we receive in return. MONEY is stored value, which makes a fair exchange of value easier. That’s all money is. Don’t get wrapped up in other people’s confusing ideas about money.

Money is simply stored value. There are other ways to give and receive value. Money is more convenient.

When I go to the dentist to get a root canal I don’t bring two sheep with me to give him in exchange. It’s much more convenient to give him money or a check or credit card or a new technology which represents money.

If he and I had an agreement beforehand I could give him work for his work. Perhaps he needs some work done on his website or he wants me to teach him how to play poker or he wants me to show up with a few more Christmas carolers to sing outside his home on Christmas Eve.

Whatever he sees value in will work for the exchange AND, money is still more convenient. Please remember to keep in mind that MONEY is simply STORED VALUE. Money is one way of conveniently exchanging value for the value you receive.

Tsu gives us value for doing what we already do. I use Twitter, Facebook AND Tsu. But for now, most of my posts start with Tsu. I send a post through Tsu and sometimes I click the buttons to send it through Twitter and Facebook at the same time. Convenient AND Tsu pays me. Not a lot. Not yet. (I’ll share some data later in this post.)

When you comment on my post on Tsu you are giving me (and Tsu!) value. Take this one, for example:
Thank You For Being A Friend

[If you are not signed up with Tsu, you may need to enroll through a link to view this. Here is my wife’s – https://www.tsu.co/MarianneEarlywine.]

Did you know that when you comment on my post you are creating value not just for me and Tsu, but for you as well?

Here’s one way that we receive value when we comment. Someone sees the comment and they choose to visit your profile and follow you or friend you or like or comment on something you’ve posted or re-posted.

Do you think you are creating more value by commenting or by liking? Hopefully, you said commenting.

Commenting is more visible and therefore, less likely to be OVERLOOKED. Many people are busy. Do you think it’s easier to see a comment or a like?

If it’s easier to see then don’t you think it will be more likely that someone will respond to it? Does that make sense?

What if the comment is only the word “Like”.

There’s nothing wrong with that once in a while, but if that’s the only way you comment what do you think will happen?

I believe that if someone always comments the same way they will see others do the same to them OR people will start ignoring them.

Is that what you would do?

This gets back to value. If you expect someone to comment, is it fair that you ONLY give likes?

Aren’t you expecting someone to give you MORE value in return for the value you are giving?

Is that a FAIR value exchange?

Think about it.

Hang in there. This takes work. This takes creating value for people by commenting and by friending!

As you can see I added over 360 friends last week. There’s a lesson in that activity.
