Some Things Take Time

When I started the Coach Zero blog I did so because I want to help everyday people like you (and stars and superstars, if they choose to join us) to create greater success in your lives. I chose the name because I thought it sounded very cool. I soon found out that Coach Zero is a term for an unsuccessful coach in college and professional sports. That’s funny. And that’s ok.

Because one thing I am here for is to claim back the Coach Zero (or CoachZero) name. Just like Yankee Doodle Dandy, which was meant as a song to make fun of Americans during Revoluntionary War times, or Spirit In The Sky, a song which was meant by Norman Greenbaum, the songwriter, to make fun of Christians, I’m making something better out of Coach Zero.

U2 had a much tougher road to follow when they said that they were “taking back” the song Helter Skelter by The Beatles. Some of you may be too young to know that Charles Manson, the cult leader and murderer, said that he listened to Helter Skelter before he went out and did his dirty deeds.

In 1988, on their live album, Rattle and Hum, U2 said that they were taking the song back (in the name of God, I believe) and I took them at their word.

Recently my wife and I saw the former Beatle, Paul McCartney, in concert in Petco Park in San Diego and it was the greatest concert experience in our lives – including Helter Skelter.

As for Coach Zero, I see it in a few ways. Have you ever heard of patient zero? It refers to the exact person who contracts something FIRST before it spreads. I guess that makes me patient zero of this new meaning for Coach Zero.

Another way of looking at is like the term ground zero. That’s used when referring to an explosion, even a nuclear explosion. Ground zero is the place where the bomb hits and the explosion spreads out from there.

It saddens me that after 9/11 I feel that I need to assure people that I am only talking in metaphorical terms about an explosion of energy and ideas. I am in now way advocating or condoning any acts of violence by using the term “explosion”.

When we have an explosion of energy and ideas, really, really great things can happen.

In April of 2014 when I started this Coach Zero blog I had no idea that something like tsu existed or was in the planning stages. I had a general idea of where I wanted to go with this blog and started writing and re-posting other’s stuff. It was similar in feeling to what Julia Cameron teaches people to do in her book, “The Artist’s Way”.

Because I have continued to play with Coach Zero and now, tsu, I am finding ways that the two can interconnect and create synergy and many readers have now come from tsu. Thanks to all of you for reading and I certainly hope my Coach Zero blog will continue to help you create more success in life.

Long before I got to 5000 friends on tsu I wanted to have the terms “Coach Zero” and “CoachZero” move up the Google rankings. Today I noticed that both terms have this CoachZero blog listed at number 3! Last spring I was lucky if the CoachZero.com URL got into the TOP TEN PAGES!

I didn’t pay for any advertising (though I did pay $5 for a failed experiment in getting blog viewers many months ago) to move CoachZero.com up the rankings. I just kept posting and trying to improve what I do here.

I believe that’s how a lot of things work. Keep working at it and keep trying to improve. I think the second part is just as important. Too many people are NOT interested in much learning or growing as a person.

If you ARE interested in learning and growing I know you can make a successful change. You can make things happen.

Mateo Garcia Shares His Experience On tsu So Far.

Mateo Garcia is my child on tsu. When you invite someone to tsu and they enroll using your code, tsu refers to them as your child. Just to be clear, Mateo and I are not related (that I know of).

We originally met because of Twitter and then connected on Facebook and he told me he would join tsu and give it a try. When he enrolled a few days later I realized that he is a man of his word.

Ask yourself how many people you know that actually do what they say they are going to do. I was immediately impressed with him and then he started telling me about tools that I can use to make my online experience more profitable.

Today’s post is not about those tools. Today’s post is about what has been happening for Mateo since I invited him to tsu and he accepted the invitation.

Here’s Mateo:

I have been on tsu for just over 30 days and it’s been a great experience. I have been able to make new connections and friends along with having some personal reward and satisfaction of more people seeing and actually caring about my posts.

On Facebook and Twitter you can sometimes just get lost in the shuffle, and with so many changes on who and when people see your posts it’s hard to stay in front of as many people on these platforms.

Tsu has personally helped me earn at least $300 in additional income from a crowdfunding campaign I have been hired to help promote.

Along with this income, I have received 3 direct leads that I have been in communication with for new business. I sometimes receive inquiries like these from my activities on Facebook and Twitter, but few and far between.

Additionally I have earned a little over $7.00 of royalty income from tsu for basically posting the same content, pictures and quotes I normally post on Facebook and Twitter. I am slowly increasing my networking time on tsu as opposed to other platforms along with inviting people with my code.

I am still on Facebook and Twitter, but hopefully more people will jump on the #tsunami.

Mateo has been working with tsu and so have I. That is the key to making tsu work for you. If you sign up and post three photos and come back five days later, don’t expect to have any royalties.

If you’re on tsu every day you will start to get somewhere. My first penny came about a week after I signed up and now I’ve made over 70 cents in one day and my total is around $15. Maybe 6 months or a year from now I’ll get $15 a day from tsu and I know that in the United States or Canada that is not a living, but how much does Facebook pay you?

Another great lesson from Mateo Garcia (@beNICEmedia) is that you can use tsu to help you grow another business. Why not get paid by a tool that helps you grow your main business?

Most tools cost money, but tsu pays you.

I’m sure Mateo agrees with me that THAT fact can make all the difference.

Have You Done 1000 Likes Yet?

For those of you who read my blog before I got onto tsu, I apologize that tsu is all I’m writing about right now.

Then again, no I don’t apologize. If YOU are not on tsu, you are missing out. If you were on tsu you would understand why we’re putting in so much effort there right now. You can join us there with the link in the upper right of this page. If you can’t find it…Click HERE.

I’m having fun on tsu and yes, there is some work. It took me a little while before I got to 1000 likes in 24 hours and now I’ve done it three different times. Today I got to 1000 likes, 1000 comments and zero (re-)shares left. That’s the second time I’ve done all three.

The more I do it, the more fun it is and it becomes less work because you find out ways to get it done in a style that you enjoy.

For instance, you could go to @Zaibatsu (I’m his tsu child, I think) and @beNICEmedia (nice name! He’s my tsu child, for sure!) and like over 150 posts (shares) each and you’ll probably truly enjoy all the images and really love 50% of them! When you do that you will find that it doesn’t take as long as you thought and now you’ve only got 700 to go in the next 24 hours.

Next you can go to your feed and it’s not hard to knock out 50 or 60 likes every 30 minutes. So, do whatever else you’re doing in your day and come back every half hour to do some likes and a few comments. That’s less than an 8 hour day WHILE you’re doing something else OR you could just spread it out into smaller pieces throughout a 16 hour day.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying that this doesn’t take any time AND I’m not saying that you should only sit there on tsu all day either. You have to interweave it into your life so you can do the things you normally do.

For instance, I just went out the store to get some soup for our son who is sick today. Earlier today I drove my wife to work and I’ve also played with the dogs. Yesterday I got to watch the second-to-last episode of Sons of Anarchy as well as the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert and I played cards with my wife.

You have to experience DOING tsu before you can figure out how it fits into your life. You will do some things that aren’t very efficient and you’ll figure out how to get faster. And, you’ll figure out how to follow the rules.

Because I got an email from tsu I make sure that all my comments are at least two words long. I don’t want to get banned from tsu because 1) I enjoy it, 2) I’m meeting new people like a filmmaker in NY this morning and a whole lot of new friends in Japan and 3) I really think that in the LONG run there is money to be made here.

That being said, you do have some work to do and you do need to be patient.

You also have to be willing to learn.

I never used to put hashtags on stuff unless I was using Twitter. Now I’m experimenting and I’m also using @ to let people know that I’ve shared something. I’ve even started to find Beatles fans who want me to @ them when I share Beatles stuff. I never used to do that, but I’m learning and USING what I learn.

Some of you are wondering about the numbers and I do think that they are important because at the very least they measure how effectively you’re communicating with large numbers of people. In a sense, the money is a way to keep score of your tsu skill.

I’m sure there are some game players who will love this part of tsu. If you can look at it like a game it can be much more fun! I NEVER imagined liking shares 1000 times in one day before I got on tsu.

Lots of people feel the same way. One guy even made a comment asking if I’m getting any sleep! IF you don’t learn how to be more efficient (that word keeps coming up), you will likely get tired and perhaps give up on making money. There’s nothing wrong with doing tsu just for fun. I think that as long as I’m here I might as well see how I can make money with tsu as well.

You may remember that on Sunday tsu paid $0.36 into my tsu account. I wasn’t sure if maybe I had hit some sort of range and I was going to continue to see deposits in the 24-42 cent range. I’m glad to say that I was wrong. It’s important not to fixate on the financial results one day at a time, but it’s nice to see trends. Here it is:

Sunday $0.36
Monday $0.41
Tuesday $0.55
Wednesday $0.64

If I had to guess I would say that a few people (re-)shared a few of my posts on Tuesday and Wednesday and MAYBE that is the big difference.

If you feel that I’m sharing valuable information with you I would appreciate it if you went to @ACrowdFunder and (re-)shared posts that I HAVE CREATED.

You can tell if it’s mine because there will only be my name Charles Hicks-Moore at the top. When I have shared someone else’s created post it says Charles Hicks-Moore has shared a post. If you’re going to (re-)share my posts, please share the kind I mentioned in the first sentence of this paragraph.

Let me know if you’re a Beatles fan and you want me to @ you when I share Beatles stuff!

Have fun with tsu!

Keep Tsu In Perspective

This week’s report has some good news and my concern is that too many readers will focus on things they perceive as negative. I’ll start with the dollar figure in my account versus last week. If you view the post from November 24th, you’ll see that I had $0.09 the previous week and that increased to $1.50 by last Monday’s post.

If we look at results from a daily perspective we may find them discouraging. One factor that we MUST keep in mind is that the pennies and dollars that end up in our account come from tsu’s revenue. It’s not magic and it’s not altruism.

We bring value to tsu by our participation and tsu shares 90% with us. That’s generous AND it’s still not Facebook size yet. If tsu has a down day in terms of money that they bring in, then that will affect the SIZE of the pie that tsu shares with us.

My piece of the pie this week is good. It grew from $1.41 last week to $2.42 in the week ending last night. Those individual days look like this – Monday to Sunday: $0.31 – $0.40 – $0.35 – $0.42 – $0.24 – $0.34 – $0.36.

If you saw my posts on my tsu profile or CoachZero.com it’s not hard to guess which amount above represents the day that my buddy and I went up to L.A. to see Fleetwood Mac in concert. (Hint: I didn’t make as much money and that day’s amount REALLY stands out!)

If you expect each day to bring a little bit more money than the day before you’re going to be disappointed. If you believe that you can do the work of making changes to your behavior, then you will likely find that you can increase those amounts week by week or month by month.

THAT second sentence is the stumbling block for many people. “How long do I have to stick with this thing until I get the benefit that I want?” Whether they say that exactly is not important. That’s kind of what many people are thinking.

IF you look at this as a job, you’ll likely be really disappointed.

If you look at it more like a business where you can have some fun and you might get some benefits (value) from places that you didn’t expect, then I believe you’ll be rewarded. BUT, that takes work and that means SMART work or WORKING SMART.

Speaking of unexpected benefits, I have seen my blog traffic increase as a result of posting about tsu AND because of links I’ve shared on tsu. Will I be at 300 or 500 or 1000 views per day in January? Maybe.

Through my experience I hope that you and I will learn how to make the most of this. So don’t be discouraged because neither day this past weekend was a record for me. On a percentage basis, the increase from $0.24 to $0.34 from Friday to Saturday is quite significant. That’s an increase of over 41% and shows that effort matters. I worked hard on those likes on Saturday and hit 1000 by 3:59 pm. Later that day I hit 1000 comments (although that fell on Sunday because of WHEN the day starts – 4 pm my time.)

What did I learn this week?

When you share that you hit 1000 likes in a post on tsu, THAT gets people’s attention in a positive way. Click here to see that post. If you are not on tsu already, you may need to register through my link to read the post. Click HERE to register using my link.

Because I’m running short of time before my meeting this morning I’m going to need to continue sharing about what I learned in a future post. (Probably later today or tomorrow.)

Here are the numbers (except the financial part which I shared in the beginning of this post):

Another way of looking at the numbers directly above is that they represent what actually happened THIS week. I believe that’s encouraging as well because those numbers led to the $2.42 increase during the week. I’ll have to look closer, but my sense is that this means I actually got paid a little bit more for the results I got. My assumption is that what really drives the dollars are likes and comments (and shares). Let’s not forget something that I haven’t mentioned at all. What happens when you or I or anyone of our children advertise OR our children’s children advertise. My guess is THAT is where the big dollars are at.

Whew! I’ll likely be back in less than 24 hours.
