I’m A #tsuwalker Shooting For The Bullseye

Last Saturday I knew it was time for me to get back to walking regularly. I used to walk so much that one of my old nicknames is BigManWalking. (I still have it as my id with places like Comic-Con. I’m sure you can find my old BigManWalking blog on blogspot.) The most I have ever walked in one day is 14 miles.

I’ve been integrating tsu into my life and created a game called #tsuwalker to keep me from getting bored on a long walk. I decided that if you’re walking and liking, that’s #tsuwalking. If you do this regularly, you’re a #tsuwalker. I put those hashtags on my tsu profile. I’m pretty sure I’m the first to use these hashtags for this purpose, so I believe it’s fair to say that I invented the game. (Even if someone else thought of it, we don’t know about each other.)

The most important thing about #tsuwalking is that you do it in a way that’s safe. Let me repeat that with emphasis. The MOST IMPORTANT THING about #tsuwalking is that you do it in a way that’s SAFE. As for me, I paused about every 75 yards or so and did 10 likes on my mobile phone. If I had to switch to another person’s profile I just kept walking while tsu was doing its thing. If there was no technical glitch at the moment I paused my walk, I was then able to just look down at the phone I was carrying in my left hand and do those likes.

As with anything, the more practice you get, the better and faster you can become. The first day I liked Nicole Barnett’s wall all the way back the her beginning on tsu.

On Sunday I switched between several users and did from 2-60 likes on each one. Sometimes I found someone who I had given a lot of likes to earlier in the week and so that person didn’t get that many on Sunday.

During the whole weekend I walked over 6 miles and that’s pretty great start after my long layoff.

If you want to like those same people, find me on tsu – @ACrowdFunder – and check out my posts in the next day or two.

Now, there is another game I like to call the Bullseye Game and life is calling so I’m leaving it for next time.

Are You On tsu? Join Our Group On tsu!

First, if you are NOT on tsu and you are reading this on a computer, you can join by following the link in the upper right. When you follow my link that connects you to me (@ACrowdFunder) and tsu refers to you as my child. Welcome, my child! 😉

If you are already registered on tsu and you want to get more likes, views and followers, Mateo Garcia (@beNICEmedia) and I and several others have created a group and that group is becoming a team that helps the members get more likes, views and followers on tsu. Right now we are accepting members who speak English in the USA and Canada. If you are from a different country and want to be part of a future expansion of the team, you are also welcome to contact me now and I’ll let you know when the time is right for that expansion.

This is a good time for me to write about the requirement for English speakers only. This has to do with just one thing. Speed. Speed of communication is the biggest factor. Soon our group will be 50, then 100 and then 500 members or more. I know some Spanish, but not enough to run an organization. I send out emails 5 or 6 days a week to the team and those emails are in English. If you have a viable solution that doesn’t add to the time it takes for us to do things, I’m willing to hear it. Just know that at least until the end of March, I’m going to be very, very busy. So that conversation could take time as I would have to fit it in to everything else I’m doing.

If you are on tsu and you have an outside business that you believe can be helped by tsu, you are a great candidate for our group. If you would just like to come play with us and get more likes, views and followers on tsu and help others do the same, that’s great!

Right now I have 5000 friends on tsu, so you would need to be a follower. Those are tsu’s rules. Not mine.

Want more success? Ready to learn how to better use social media to get there? Join my team.

I’m @ACrowdFunder!

Manage Your Expectations

Imagine you’re in the audience and the announcer says, “Please give a warm welcome to the FUNNIEST MAN IN THE WORLD!”

Wouldn’t you have really high expectations? Wouldn’t MOST PEOPLE have really, really high expectations after hearing that introduction!? I know I would.

If you’re sitting in that audience and the comedian comes out and does a good job is it possible that the audience would say he was just ok? Because the expectations are so high after the announcer gives that introduction, it’s almost INEVITABLE that the audience would be disappointed. Who could live up to that?

We don’t want that to happen with OUR EXPECTATIONS OF tsu. That’s why “Manage Your Expectations” is the title of today’s post.

Don’t expect that the financial reward of tsu will just keep going up every day (or even every week).

What we really want is to understand how to best use tsu. There are other benefits to tsu that I won’t go into today, nevertheless, I just wanted to remind you that money is not the only thing we can get from tsu. Money can be ONE way of keeping score if we think of tsu as being like a game.

Here are the results of my tsu game this week and two previous weeks:

Just one impact I’ll mention:

IF I continue to add friends at a similar rate then I will have 5000 friends in two weeks or less. My expectation is that WHEN I reach 5000 friends, whether before or after Christmas, I will then start adding followers at a higher rate. Time will tell if that is true.

Now for what many of you are maybe more interested in – the money.

These results are for the week of 12/01/14 through 12/07/14. Please remember that these numbers are posted to my account in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), so last night was the 8th of December and the results posted last night were for the 7th of December.

(I’m writing this on the 8th of December, which will be over in less than three hours based on GMT. Everything clear? LOL)

You can see that I hit a high of $0.75 on the next-to-last day of the week. IF I had expected that the next day I would do better, that is, if I expected that every day the numbers would continue to climb higher, I would be disappointed. By managing my expectations I don’t get bothered when one day brings lower results than another.

What I can do is to seek to learn what I can do to improve my results. One thing that seems to be true is that shares count for more than comments or likes. That means that you and I must create our own content. If I share someone else’s content because I see a beautiful picture from say @Zaibatsu or @Rolla or a quote I like from @beNICEmedia, that’s really good AND we should be doing that. BUT, when WE create something and someone else shares it, I believe that’s worth approximately $0.05 to us. I can’t promise that, and it may be more or less, but that’s what it looks like to me.

Here are a couple Christmas-themed links to posts that I have created that I hope you will share. I would appreciate it. If you believe that I am creating value for you by writing this blog, then it would be wonderful if you shared posts that I have created.

Finally, how does this week’s financials compare with previous weeks?

I have included my complete financials since I began with tsu because I believe I made some small errors in a previous post. You can see that in the beginning I was getting ZEROS because I wasn’t putting in any or very little effort after enrolling with tsu.

My overall total right now is:

$8.25

This week’s total is:

$4.33

That’s an increase of over 78% versus last week! Put another way, this week’s total is over 178% of last week’s total. My apologies if percentages are not your thing. I believe that not understanding math can hold people back. Ask a friend who knows math better if they can explain it to you better. OR, trust me, this is REALLY GOOD NEWS! Hopefully, my numbers (and yours) will continue to grow. Again, it’s not magic. Do the work and learn how to make adjustments and your numbers will improve as well.

Have a great day!

Have You Done 1000 Likes Yet?

For those of you who read my blog before I got onto tsu, I apologize that tsu is all I’m writing about right now.

Then again, no I don’t apologize. If YOU are not on tsu, you are missing out. If you were on tsu you would understand why we’re putting in so much effort there right now. You can join us there with the link in the upper right of this page. If you can’t find it…Click HERE.

I’m having fun on tsu and yes, there is some work. It took me a little while before I got to 1000 likes in 24 hours and now I’ve done it three different times. Today I got to 1000 likes, 1000 comments and zero (re-)shares left. That’s the second time I’ve done all three.

The more I do it, the more fun it is and it becomes less work because you find out ways to get it done in a style that you enjoy.

For instance, you could go to @Zaibatsu (I’m his tsu child, I think) and @beNICEmedia (nice name! He’s my tsu child, for sure!) and like over 150 posts (shares) each and you’ll probably truly enjoy all the images and really love 50% of them! When you do that you will find that it doesn’t take as long as you thought and now you’ve only got 700 to go in the next 24 hours.

Next you can go to your feed and it’s not hard to knock out 50 or 60 likes every 30 minutes. So, do whatever else you’re doing in your day and come back every half hour to do some likes and a few comments. That’s less than an 8 hour day WHILE you’re doing something else OR you could just spread it out into smaller pieces throughout a 16 hour day.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying that this doesn’t take any time AND I’m not saying that you should only sit there on tsu all day either. You have to interweave it into your life so you can do the things you normally do.

For instance, I just went out the store to get some soup for our son who is sick today. Earlier today I drove my wife to work and I’ve also played with the dogs. Yesterday I got to watch the second-to-last episode of Sons of Anarchy as well as the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert and I played cards with my wife.

You have to experience DOING tsu before you can figure out how it fits into your life. You will do some things that aren’t very efficient and you’ll figure out how to get faster. And, you’ll figure out how to follow the rules.

Because I got an email from tsu I make sure that all my comments are at least two words long. I don’t want to get banned from tsu because 1) I enjoy it, 2) I’m meeting new people like a filmmaker in NY this morning and a whole lot of new friends in Japan and 3) I really think that in the LONG run there is money to be made here.

That being said, you do have some work to do and you do need to be patient.

You also have to be willing to learn.

I never used to put hashtags on stuff unless I was using Twitter. Now I’m experimenting and I’m also using @ to let people know that I’ve shared something. I’ve even started to find Beatles fans who want me to @ them when I share Beatles stuff. I never used to do that, but I’m learning and USING what I learn.

Some of you are wondering about the numbers and I do think that they are important because at the very least they measure how effectively you’re communicating with large numbers of people. In a sense, the money is a way to keep score of your tsu skill.

I’m sure there are some game players who will love this part of tsu. If you can look at it like a game it can be much more fun! I NEVER imagined liking shares 1000 times in one day before I got on tsu.

Lots of people feel the same way. One guy even made a comment asking if I’m getting any sleep! IF you don’t learn how to be more efficient (that word keeps coming up), you will likely get tired and perhaps give up on making money. There’s nothing wrong with doing tsu just for fun. I think that as long as I’m here I might as well see how I can make money with tsu as well.

You may remember that on Sunday tsu paid $0.36 into my tsu account. I wasn’t sure if maybe I had hit some sort of range and I was going to continue to see deposits in the 24-42 cent range. I’m glad to say that I was wrong. It’s important not to fixate on the financial results one day at a time, but it’s nice to see trends. Here it is:

Sunday $0.36
Monday $0.41
Tuesday $0.55
Wednesday $0.64

If I had to guess I would say that a few people (re-)shared a few of my posts on Tuesday and Wednesday and MAYBE that is the big difference.

If you feel that I’m sharing valuable information with you I would appreciate it if you went to @ACrowdFunder and (re-)shared posts that I HAVE CREATED.

You can tell if it’s mine because there will only be my name Charles Hicks-Moore at the top. When I have shared someone else’s created post it says Charles Hicks-Moore has shared a post. If you’re going to (re-)share my posts, please share the kind I mentioned in the first sentence of this paragraph.

Let me know if you’re a Beatles fan and you want me to @ you when I share Beatles stuff!

Have fun with tsu!

Keep Tsu In Perspective

This week’s report has some good news and my concern is that too many readers will focus on things they perceive as negative. I’ll start with the dollar figure in my account versus last week. If you view the post from November 24th, you’ll see that I had $0.09 the previous week and that increased to $1.50 by last Monday’s post.

If we look at results from a daily perspective we may find them discouraging. One factor that we MUST keep in mind is that the pennies and dollars that end up in our account come from tsu’s revenue. It’s not magic and it’s not altruism.

We bring value to tsu by our participation and tsu shares 90% with us. That’s generous AND it’s still not Facebook size yet. If tsu has a down day in terms of money that they bring in, then that will affect the SIZE of the pie that tsu shares with us.

My piece of the pie this week is good. It grew from $1.41 last week to $2.42 in the week ending last night. Those individual days look like this – Monday to Sunday: $0.31 – $0.40 – $0.35 – $0.42 – $0.24 – $0.34 – $0.36.

If you saw my posts on my tsu profile or CoachZero.com it’s not hard to guess which amount above represents the day that my buddy and I went up to L.A. to see Fleetwood Mac in concert. (Hint: I didn’t make as much money and that day’s amount REALLY stands out!)

If you expect each day to bring a little bit more money than the day before you’re going to be disappointed. If you believe that you can do the work of making changes to your behavior, then you will likely find that you can increase those amounts week by week or month by month.

THAT second sentence is the stumbling block for many people. “How long do I have to stick with this thing until I get the benefit that I want?” Whether they say that exactly is not important. That’s kind of what many people are thinking.

IF you look at this as a job, you’ll likely be really disappointed.

If you look at it more like a business where you can have some fun and you might get some benefits (value) from places that you didn’t expect, then I believe you’ll be rewarded. BUT, that takes work and that means SMART work or WORKING SMART.

Speaking of unexpected benefits, I have seen my blog traffic increase as a result of posting about tsu AND because of links I’ve shared on tsu. Will I be at 300 or 500 or 1000 views per day in January? Maybe.

Through my experience I hope that you and I will learn how to make the most of this. So don’t be discouraged because neither day this past weekend was a record for me. On a percentage basis, the increase from $0.24 to $0.34 from Friday to Saturday is quite significant. That’s an increase of over 41% and shows that effort matters. I worked hard on those likes on Saturday and hit 1000 by 3:59 pm. Later that day I hit 1000 comments (although that fell on Sunday because of WHEN the day starts – 4 pm my time.)

What did I learn this week?

When you share that you hit 1000 likes in a post on tsu, THAT gets people’s attention in a positive way. Click here to see that post. If you are not on tsu already, you may need to register through my link to read the post. Click HERE to register using my link.

Because I’m running short of time before my meeting this morning I’m going to need to continue sharing about what I learned in a future post. (Probably later today or tomorrow.)

Here are the numbers (except the financial part which I shared in the beginning of this post):

Another way of looking at the numbers directly above is that they represent what actually happened THIS week. I believe that’s encouraging as well because those numbers led to the $2.42 increase during the week. I’ll have to look closer, but my sense is that this means I actually got paid a little bit more for the results I got. My assumption is that what really drives the dollars are likes and comments (and shares). Let’s not forget something that I haven’t mentioned at all. What happens when you or I or anyone of our children advertise OR our children’s children advertise. My guess is THAT is where the big dollars are at.

Whew! I’ll likely be back in less than 24 hours.

Growing In Social Media

This morning’s post is mostly about progress thru my newest social media site: Tsu.co/ACrowdFunder.

Just because I’m experiencing challenges with uploading a picture of my Tsu stats doesn’t mean I’m not going to share them. Here they are right now:

I Have 6 “Children”
Those 6 Have Zero “Children”

Yesterday (and into this morning) was the second time Tsu told me that I had reached my limit on posting.

Twitter

Following 1402
Followed 1381

I should also mention here that I believe that Twitter has become an underutilized tool. Twitter still provides a lot of value if you pay attention and communicate. Follow me at Twitter.com/ACrowdFunder.

One of the challenges with numbers is understanding “How Am I Doing?”

When the numbers are too small it’s hard to draw any conclusions about how likely things you are measuring will continue to behave in the same way.

That’s what we want. A way to duplicate something that works. If I have 6 children this week will I have another 6 children (or more) next week?

Over the next several weeks and months (and years) you will be able to see how my methods are working and how I improve over that time. By improve I mean more growth in the numbers as well as strengthening the relationships that occur when you have some communication.

Right now I’ll tell you that one of my Tsu children is my wife – @MarianneEarlywine. Another is someone I met on Twitter – @ismellzombies – just over two weeks ago and his crowdfunding campaign is almost exactly on target. He has 15 days and a couple hours to reach his goal. View his campaign by visiting Kickstarter.com and searching Remain Calm. His project is the game involving zombies!

Two of my Tsu children are Facebook friends. Charlotte is someone who I have talked with and even networked with on the phone more than once – @Cjtersigni. Another Facebook friend is from Sweden – @Askmo. Both of these individuals have been connected to me on Facebook for years. I’m at Facebook.com/BigManWalking.

Last but not least are two more from Twitter. Kelly – @kkdub – is someone who I asked back in the spring if she would be interested in networking and she knows about social media. She introduced me to Bufferapp.com, which lets you schedule tweets. She and I also talked on the phone several months ago. Last of the last and certainly not least of the least is a teacher I met on Twitter just last night. She – @Tavie76 – is using a different crowdfunding platform and you can visit DonorsChoose.org/think.pink to see what she’s doing.

Please remember that these are the names that each of these people have chosen to use on Tsu. They may have a different – @YourCR8TVNameHere – name on Twitter.

Why Miss Out On Profit With Social Media?

Imagine if Facebook paid you part of the profits for doing what you are doing on Facebook anyway. One week ago I started playing with a site that seems pretty similar to Facebook. The BIG difference is that they share profits with the users. If you are doing something anyway and you can be paid to do it, why not?

As far as I know this concept is only at the beginning and some people are incredibly skeptical and won’t believe something until it’s long proven. Unfortunately, when a concept is long proven is often the time when it’s not as profitable because the vast majority of people who will be involved are already involved.

This can happen in places like the stock market as well. I remember years ago when Cisco Systems was at a peak and they were having trouble moving the stock price any higher. The thinking by some people was that just about everyone who could buy the stock already owned it. So, what new people or institutions were left who could discover Cisco and buy their stock? If you look at Google Finance you can see that Cisco seems to have peaked way back in 2000. (When you see the graph make sure you click on “All” which is about two inches to the right of the word “Zoom” in the upper left of the graph area. The visual of the peak stock price is like the top of a mountain!)

For those of you who want to get rich quick, this is not the way. I cannot stress enough that you are being paid to do something you’re ALREADY doing. I post just like I do on Facebook. I like. I share. And over time, I expect that pennies will turn into dimes and dimes into dollars. I don’t claim to completely understand it yet, but it was nice to see my first penny pop in there this morning.

I’m sure some people will laugh right now. A penny? Yes. And that looks to me to be just the beginning. I didn’t invite a thousand people to join me. I have two people so far who I invited and they followed my link and they are my “children” at the site. And today at the top of the page it shows $0.01 instead of $0.00.

Right now I have 6 friends and 1 follower. I urge you to join me now and get ahead of the vast crowd. How many profiles are there on Facebook? Over a billion? We don’t yet have close to that. And that’s a good thing.

Think about it.

Actually, don’t just think about it.

Join me right now by clicking here.
