Life is rad in Carlsbad

Crystal here.  San Diego – where to begin?  Southern California has been a special place for me (and my sister) since our very first road trip down the I-5 with our Mum in 1980(?). This magical land of beaches, palm trees, and ridiculous freeways still feels more like home to me than “home” does. We left Fran and Whitey’s place on Good Friday and made the relatively short jaunt down to Chula Vista, for a couple of nights of “splurging” at the San Diego Metro KOA. Being a holiday weekend the place was packed with families, but our campsite somehow kept us clear of the biggest hordes of screaming kids. If you have kids, the campground does an amazing job of providing endless activities to keep them entertained, especially on a holiday weekend.
